The Zerona Laser was developed by Erchonia Medical. Located outside of Houston, Texas, they have been in the laser business for over 15 years. Erchonia was the first laser company to develop the “digital light diode” which revolutionized low level light therapy. These healing lasers are also called “cold lasers” because you don’t feel the light when it shines on your skin. Essentially the laser light resonates with the natural frequency of a healthy cell – 635 nanometers. This makes these lasers extremely efficient at helping to speed up the healing process for patients who have any number of ailments such as broken bones, pulled muscles or tendons. Erchonia was the first company to get FDA approval for laser therapy in 2001.

Drs Drake and Russell are some of the early pioneers to utilize the use of lasers in their practices. Dr. Drake has been using the Erchonia Laser since 2001 and is the first person in BC to be certified in its use. Dr. Drake also uses her red/violet laser to do a technique called Applied Neurology which has far reaching affects on the brain and central nervous system.

Erchonia got involved in using laser therapy for body slimming when it was discovered that this healing laser also facilitated the removal of fat from the body. The cold laser light creates temporary porous openings in the fat cell wall thus allowing the fat to escape and then naturally excreted.
